El Director General de la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI), Dr. Kamil Idris, aplaudió la adhesión, el 16 de junio, de la Organización Africana de la Propiedad Intelectual (conocida por su sigla en francés, OAPI – Organisation africaine de la propriété intellectuelle) al Acta de Ginebra del Arreglo de La Haya relativo al registro internacional de dibujos y modelos industriales. El Acta de Ginebra es uno de los tres instrumentos que rigen el Sistema de La Haya de registro internacional de diseños industriales y ofrece a las empresas de todos los países que lo integran una manera simple, accesible y eficiente de proteger y mantener sus carteras de diseños industriales.

عززت المنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية (الويبو) تعاونها مع جمهورية غانا بتوقيع خطة لتطوير الملكية الفكرية في 7 مايو/أيار 2008. وترمي الخطة إلى تكوين الكفاءات الوطنية من أجل استحداث أصول الملكية الفكرية وحمايتها والانتفاع بها كأداة قادرة على النهوض بالنمو والتنمية الاقتصادية. وترمي الخطة أيضا إلى ضمان القدرة التقنية على الانتفاع بنظام الملكية الفكرية لدى مكاتب الملكية الفكرية والمنتفعين المحتملين بنظام الملكية الفكرية، من جامعات وشركات صغيرة ومتوسطة وغرف التجارة والصناعة ومؤسسات البحث والتطوير ومنظمات حق المؤلف. ووقع الاتفاق بالنيابة عن جمهورية غانا وزير العدل، السيد جو غارتي.
