IP Training Institutions

The WIPO Academy manages the intellectual property training institutions (IPTIs) project, which creates and consolidates self-sustaining training capacities at the national and regional levels.

The IPTIs respond to local demand for intellectual property (IP) education and skills-building in a manner that is tailored to the goals and priorities of member states. The IPTIs project includes:

  • supporting the establishment of new IPTIs;
  • ad hoc cooperation with established IPTIs; and
  • providing collective services and resources to enhance the operation of IPTIs.

The IPTIs that have been established with the support of the WIPO Academy have responded to local demand for IP skills and knowledge in a scalable and cost-effective way.

The IPTI Virtual Network

Our Virtual Network maps existing IPTIs worldwide, offering contact information to their relevant focal points. It facilitates regional cooperation, encouraging joint activities across training institutions using national, sub-regional and regional expertise to complement international support.

The Virtual Network groups national and regional IPTIs around the world. Access to the network is restricted to institutions that currently receive the support of the WIPO Academy and other selected partners.

Are you a national or regional IPTI that is interested joining the Virtual Network?
