Le directeur général de l'OMPI, M. Francis Gurry, a achevé le 20 juillet 2010 une visite officielle de trois jours à Dacca au cours de laquelle il a eu une série d'entretiens de haut niveau, notamment avec le premier ministre, le cheikh Hasina. Les débats ont porté sur les moyens de renforcer la coopération entre l'OMPI et le Bangladesh et sur différentes questions présentant un intérêt pour l'ensemble des pays les moins avancés. En outre, M. Gurry a présenté au premier ministre les résultats d'une étude sur les expressions culturelles traditionnelles du Bangladesh mandatée par l'OMPI.

ناقشت هيئة التفاوض العليا بشأن حق المؤلف التابعة للويبو هذا الأسبوع تحسين نفاذ المكفوفين وضعيفي البصر وغيرهم من غير القادرين على القراءة إلى المصنفات المحمية بموجب حق المؤلف وكذلك تحديث حقوق هيئات الإذاعة. كما راجعت اللجنة الدائمة المعنية بحق المؤلف والحقوق المجاورة، التي اجتمعت في الفترة من 21 إلى 24 يونيو، وضع المناقشات حول تحديث حقوق فناني الأداء في أدائهم السمعي والبصري، ودعت إلى تقديم اقتراحات ملموسة للمضي قدما بالمفاوضات.
