WIPO Director General Receives Delegation of Mexican Performers

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Dr. Kamil Idris, met on November 30, 2001 with representatives of Mexico's National Association of Performers (ANDI) and government officials for an exchange of views on enhancing copyright protection and promoting the rights of creators in Mexico. The delegation also awarded Dr. Idris with the "Dolores del Río" medal in recognition of his efforts to defend the rights of performers.

El pasado 30 de noviembre, el Dr. Kamil Idris, Director General de la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI), se reunió con representantes de la Asociación Nacional de Intérpretes (ANDI) de México, así como con varios funcionarios gubernamentales de ese país, con los que intercambió puntos de vista sobre la protección del derecho de autor y el fomento de los derechos de los creadores en México. Con motivo de su visita, la delegación hizo entrega de la medalla "Dolores del Río" al Dr. Idris, en reconocimiento de sus esfuerzos por defender los derechos de los artistas intérpretes y ejecutantes.

Le directeur général de l'Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OMPI), M. Kamil Idris, a rencontré le 30 novembre 2001 des représentants de l'Association nationale mexicaine des artistes interprètes (ANDI) et des responsables gouvernementaux pour un échange de vues sur le thème du renforcement de la protection du droit d'auteur et de la promotion des droits des créateurs au Mexique. La délégation mexicaine a décerné à M. Idris la médaille "Dolores del Río" en reconnaissance des efforts qu'il déploie pour défendre les droits des artistes interprètes ou exécutants.
