Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals Area coordinates the engagement of WIPO, as a specialized agency of the United Nations, in the implementation of the UN SDGs.

Our activities include:

• Monitoring progress in the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Development Agenda and providing strategic analysis, assessments, advice and recommendations concerning work streams in support of how WIPO implements the SDGs;

• Facilitating discussions on the SDGs as they relate to WIPO's mandate in relevant Committees and other bodies in WIPO, particularly the WIPO Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP);

• Supervising and coordinating the preparation of publications and reports, including reports to Member States, on SDGs and related issues;

• Liaising with Member States, International Organizations and civil society with respect to the UN SDGs and representing WIPO in fora both within the United Nations System and more broadly, with respect to the SDGs.
