This webinar will introduce stream ripping (the obtaining of a permanent copy of a content that is streamed online) and its relationship with music piracy. The session will address how stream ripping infringes copyright and the economic impact it causes to the recorded music industry. Furthermore, we will explore how courts have ruled on copyright infringement in cases involving stream ripping and have awarded damages. This webinar is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) of the Republic of Korea.
