International Conference on Copyright Limitations and Exceptions for Libraries, Archives, Museums and Educational & Research Institutions

This International Conference is being held in accordance with the Action Plans on Limitations and Exceptions approved by Member States during the 36th session of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) held in June 2018.

The Conference will conclude the fact-finding and information gathering phase foreseen in the limitations and exceptions Action Plans and will provide an opportunity to address on a global scale some of the issues identified during the three regional seminars on limitations and exceptions held in Singapore, Nairobi and Santo Domingo.

Practical information

Entry visa

Conference participants requiring a visa should file their visa applications at least three weeks before departure. They must be in possession of a valid entry visa before starting their travel.

Getting to WIPO

Participants arriving at Geneva airport can obtain a free public transport ticket, valid for an 80-minute bus or train journey around the Geneva area. The free ticket can be obtained at the automatic ticket distributor located in the baggage claim area, just before Customs.

  • Buses 5 and 28 stop at Place des Nations, within walking distance of WIPO.
  • Train takes six minutes from the airport to Geneva’s central station, “Cornavin”, a 10 minute bus or tram ride to WIPO.

Taxis are readily available at the designated taxi ranks in the airport.
