Regional Seminar for the African Group on Libraries, Archives, Museums and Educational & Research Institutions in the Field of Copyright

This regional seminar is proposed in accordance with the Action Plans on Limitations and Exceptions approved by member states during SCCR/36 in June 2018.

The objective of the seminar is to analyze the situation of libraries, archives and museums as well as educational and research institutions, and areas for action, with respect to the limitations and exceptions regime and the specificities of the member states in the region.

The seminar is jointly organized by WIPO and the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO).

Delegates from the African Group

Representatives from each member state from the African Group have been invited to take part in this Seminar. Travel and other arrangements are under preparation.

Observers

Member states from other regions may send their representatives to attend the meeting as observers on a self-financed basis.

IGO and NGO representatives from:

  • international organizations accredited with WIPO that have a scope of activity related to the subject of the seminar or
  • regional or national organizations or entities from the region where the seminar is being held that have a scope of activity related to the subject of the seminar

may take part as observers at their own expense.

Observer participation will be designed to allow as much participation as possible, especially for observers from the region in which the seminar is taking place, keeping in mind constraints related to the size of the venues.

Those wishing to attend as observers should communicate their expression of interest. Please understand that your acceptance will be dependent on the availability of space in the venue.
