The 11th Waning of Tabodwe, 1375 M.E.

(25 February, 2014)

The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw hereby enacts this Law.

1. This Law shall be called the Law Amending the Electronic Transactions Law.

2. The expression “from a minimum of 7 years to a maximum of 15 years” contained in section 33 of the

Electronic Transactions Law shall be substituted by the expression “from a minimum of five years to a

maximum of seven years”.

3. The expression “on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 5 years or

with fine or with both:” contained in section 34 of the Electronic Transactions Law shall be substituted by

the expression “on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend from Kyat fifty lakhs to Kyat one

hundred lakhs. In default of payment of fine shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may

extend from a minimum of one year to a maximum of three years:”

4. The expression “on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years or

with fine or with both” contained in section 35 of the Electronic Transactions Law shall be substituted by

the expression “on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend from Kyat ten lakhs to Kyat fifty

lakhs. In default of payment of fine shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend

from a minimum of six months to a maximum of one year.”

5. The expression “on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 1 year or

with fine or with both” contained in section 36 of the Electronic Transactions Law shall be substituted by

the expression “on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend from Kyat one hundred thousand

to Kyat three hundred thousand. In default of payment of fine shall be punished with imprisonment for a

term which may extend to three months.”

6. The expression “on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 1 year or

with fine or with both:” contained in section 37 of the Electronic Transactions Law shall be substituted by

the expression “on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend from Kyat one hundred thousand
