The Constitution establishes the Principality of Liechtenstein as a parliamentary democracy under a constitutional hereditary monarchy. Since its adoption, it has been amended several times, most recently in 2010.
The Constitution specifies the separation of executive, legislative and judicial branches and their responsibilities, as well as fundamental rights and duties of citizens.
Article 34(2) of the Constitution guarantees the protection of copyrights. In addition, the right of private property is protected by Article 34(1).
