On November 24–25, WIPO will host the second Global Research Experts Meeting, bringing together economists, researchers, policy experts, and thought leaders from around the world to advance dialogue on women's participation in innovation, creativity, and intellectual property (IP).
The meeting is an important initiative under WIPO's strategy on the role of IP in support of women and girls, the IP and Gender Action Plan (IPGAP), which includes the organization's commitment to identifying the scope and nature of the gender gap in innovation and intellectual property through data collection, analysis, and research. This hybrid meeting will showcase new research, data, and policy approaches aimed at expanding opportunities for women across the IP ecosystem. Discussions will explore innovative methodologies and indicators to measure women's participation, strategies to strengthen commercialization and funding for IP-based ventures, and the role of data in shaping evidence-based policies.
The event will also highlight women's contributions to innovation and creativity at national, regional, and global levels, foster collaboration across disciplines and countries, and build a strong network of experts committed to improving women's engagement in IP.
