You can request total or partial cancellation of an international trademark registration (“asset”) – remove some or all of the goods and services for all designated Madrid System members – directly through your eMadrid workbench.
Warning: cancellation (partial or total) is permanent.
- If you request total cancellation, we will remove your international registration from the International Register.
- If you request partial cancellation, the cancelled goods and services will no longer be protected in any of the designated Madrid System members. You will not be able to restore protection later on using “Expand protection”.
To restore protection, you would have to file a new international trademark application.
- Log in to eMadrid with your WIPO Account
- Go to “Manage your trademarks” to access your workbench
- Click on the three dots (“…”) to the right of the asset – or open the asset directly in your workbench and click “Manage trademark”
- Choose “Partial cancellation” or “Total cancellation”
- Follow the prompts to complete your request.
Authorization is required. Find out more.
