Name: John Schmidt Organization: Home Position: Network Administrator I think your proposed rules are far too restrive, or rather far to restrive to apply to all domain name spaces. There are after all only a finite number of words (in fact only really a finite number of possible words of less that 16 charaters, a pretty long word I am sure you will agree.) Let me suggest a counter proposal. Apply different rules to different name spaces (.gov, .com, .org) and create new name spaces as needed. So for example only legetimate goverments can use .gov or a name space like .tm (for example) could be created to handle trade marked names. Notice that would then allow the end user to know if this is the "real" German Goverment or the "real" Disney. |
