Registration Open: Master’s Degree Program with KDI School

The third edition of the Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property and Development Policy (MIPD) jointly offered by WIPO, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), Sejong City and the Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management (KDI School) is accepting applications until September 27, 2021.

Registration

The MIPD will start with a distance learning phase on January 1, 2022, followed by a residential phase at KDI School in the Republic of Korea from February 7 to December 16, 2022. Given the evolving context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the residential phase might be held partly or entirely online. The language of instruction for the duration of the program is English.

 

What does the MIPD cover?

The program will equip graduates with the knowledge and practical skills in the use of intellectual property (IP) for innovation, economic growth, management and sustainable development. Graduates have gone on to work in national and regional IP offices, SMEs, universities and R&D institutions.

The year-long MIPD covers a range of IP topics through lectures, skills-development training at KIPO and Sejong City, and supervised research projects, including:

  • IP law and development;
  • Economics of innovation and new technology;
  • IP, emerging issues and sustainable development;
  • Development policy; and
  • IP management and practice.

 

Registration and Scholarship Application

Applications for the MIPD should be submitted online through the KDI School application portal. Instructions are available in the 2022 Spring Admissions Guidelines. Applicants can simultaneously apply for a WIPO scholarship, which covers tuition and a stipend, via the WIPO eLearning Center. All applications must be submitted by September 27, 2021.
