The Madrid System provides an efficient, easy-to-use and reliable solution for businesses to register and manage their own international trademarks in different countries representing 80% of the global trade volume. In recent years, WIPO has developed online professional tools with a wide coverage for Madrid users across the world, helping businesses control and manage smoothly their international trademarks at all phases. An overview of these tools was given on June 11th. To learn more, please click on the link below: Deep Dive—The Madrid System Online Services (in Chinese).

If you have already obtained an international trademark registration through the Madrid System, is it possible that this can be managed subsequently with a simple tool? For example, the change, transfer, subsequent designation and all types of payment of this international trademark registration can be realized in a quick and simple manner. Madrid Portfolio Manager is exactly such a tool.

In order to facilitate better understanding and use of this tool among Chinese businesses, we will especially launch a Chinese webinar on August 27, 2020, inviting experts from Madrid Information and Promotion Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization to give a detailed explanation of this tool and provide guidance for improving the management of international trademark registration. You will also have the opportunity for interaction after the webinar.
