The notification by Israel to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'This Copyright Act and the [..] Copyright Ordinance stem from Great Britain and became applicable [..] when the British Mandatory Administration held sway (1917-1948); they have remained on Israel's Law Books - albeit with considerable amendments [1953, 1968, 1971, 1981, 1999] - until now. The English text presented [..] here only partly rests on the original English version; most of it was translated [..] from the official Hebrew translation, which is now used in Israel - Tr.'
