The Civil Code of the Russian Federation contains four parts (Parts I,II III and IV).
Part IV of the Civil Code was adopted by the Federal Law No. 230-FZ of December 18, 2006. It codifies fundamental rules and principles of intellectual property law and has for the first time introduced provisions relating to databases protected by copyright.
