Resources for Intellectual Property Offices of Madrid System Members

The intellectual property (IP) Offices of all our Madrid System Members have duties as “Offices of Origin" – the Office through which an international trademark application is filed  and as “Offices of a designated Member” – countries or regions where holders seek cross-border protection of their marks through WIPO's Madrid System!
We support IP Offices to process and manage international trademark applications and registrations, providing tools, resources, training and more.
Are you an IP Office thinking of joining the Madrid System? Find out all about the preparatory work required and access tools developed specifically to help you through the accession process.

Madrid e-Filing

Madrid e-Filing is a WIPO-powered, free-of-charge digital environment through which trademark holders can file – and we (WIPO and all participating IP Offices) can process – applications for international trademark registrations.

More and more Madrid System Members are integrating Madrid e-Filing to streamline and speed-up the application process at both the back and the front-end. Don’t miss out!

We will...
  • Help you integrate Madrid e-Filing into your IT environment and provide technical support.
  • Set up a test instance for you to assess Madrid e-Filing. Tip! If your Office contributes to our Global Brand Database (or TMview) then your national trademark data is available for import into Madrid e-Filing.
  • Translate the Madrid e-Filing interface into your Office's working language free-of-charge.

We will offer each English language training session twice on the same day – with French subtitles in the morning; with Spanish subtitles in the afternoon – to ensure that wherever you are in the world, you can join us. Be sure to ask all your questions at the end of the presentation during the live Q&A session. We look forward to seeing you online!
