The objective of this event was to discuss the experiences of Central European and Baltic States when designing and implementing Intellectual Property (IP) Strategies and the amendment of the second version of the Guidance for the development of an IP Strategy in Countries in Transition.
The Conference was attended by 16 experts from the Region (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) and about 30 local participants representing public and private sector stakeholders and academia.
During the first day of the conference all participants presented their national experience in developing the National IP Strategies.
The second day consisted of three Roundtables. The first focussed on the lessons learned using methodologies for creating IP strategies and on proposals for improving that process. The second focussed on proposed amendments of the Guidance. The third wrapped up the outcomes of the first two Roundtables in order to identify follow-up activities in relation to the Guidance and WIPO support for member states.
