Withdrawal by the Kingdom of Spain of its Declaration Concerning Chapter II

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on June 6, 1997, of the notification of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain withdrawing the declaration contained in its instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) done at Washington on June 19, 1970, amended on September 28, 1979 and modified on February 3, 1984, to the effect that the Kingdom of Spain does not consider itself bound by the provisions of Chapter II of the said Treaty (see PCT Notification No. 55, of August 21, 1989).

The withdrawal of the said declaration will take effect on September 6, 1997. Consequently, from the said date, the Kingdom of Spain will be bound also by the provisions of Chapter II of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
