You can share access to your international trademark applications and registrations (“assets”) with your team members through your eMadrid workbench. You can allocate different roles and permissions to different team members as required.
- Editor Admin: View, edit and share assets, and manage access rights
- Editor only: View and edit assets; cannot share or manage access rights
- Viewer Admin: View, share and manage access rights (up to the level of your own access rights)
- Viewer only: View; cannot edit, share or manage access rights
Step 1: Create connections
The first step in sharing access to your workbench assets is to create “Connections” through your WIPO Account:
- Go to eMadrid
- Click the “IP Portal Login” button at the top right of your screen
- Log in with your WIPO Account
- Click your username (top right) and choose “My WIPO Account”
- Scroll down and click “Manage my connections”
- Follow the prompts to create (or delete) connections.
The person you want to connect with must accept your connection request.
Step 2: Allocate access rights

- In your workbench, select the relevant asset
- Click tab “Manage selected” to open the actions panel
- Scroll down to “Admin access” and click “Manage access rights”
- Choose “Existing connections”
- Choose the access new rights (e.g., Role = Editor, Delegation rights = Admin)
- Click “Update access rights” to complete the process.
