Improving WIPO’s IT systems

Developing WIPO’s IT systems

From 2014 to 2019, WIPO’s support to IP offices in the ASEAN region and Africa region utilizing the FIT Japan IP Global has achieved several milestones:

  • WIPO CASE was developed and made available to all patent offices in the ASEAN region.
  • WIPO CASE was successfully inked to the IP5 (China National Intellectual Property Administration, the Japan Patent Office, the European Patent Office, Korean Intellectual Property Office, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office) One Portal Dossier and all IP5 offices participated as providing offices.
  • WIPO CASE public access was implemented through the IP5 Global Dossier and through WIPO PATENTSCOPE.
  • The suite of WIPO products available to IP offices (IPAS, WIPO Publish, WIPO File, EDMS) has been enhanced to provide better solutions for IP administration and for online filing and online publication of IP data.
  • ASEAN PATENTSCOPE has been developed and patent data from 9 ASEAN offices has become available on ASEAN PATENTSCOPE and on WIPO PATENTSCOPE.
  • ARIPO Regional IP Database has been developed and patent data, design data and trademark data from 14 offices of ARIPO Member States have become available.
