Name: Eszter Hargittai Organization: Princeton University Position: PhD Candidate Hello, This proposal seems extremely problematic and I would like to put in my vote for an unconditional no. Would these suggestions be retroactive. What happens if I spend years developing the importance of my own domain name for my own purposes (which happens to be my first name) and then suddenly a famous person comes along with that name? I have to give up my (domain) name just because she happens to have the same name? This seems extremely problematic. The same is true for geographical names. Who will have the rights to those and why would they be any more eligible than whoever owns the name now? Thank you for your consideration, Eszter Hargittai |
