Name: Mike Sernocky Organization: InstantApproval.net Position: owner The "Bad Faith" clause is too broad and flawed in its granting of "offline mark holders". Labeling domain owners and speculators with the buzzword "cybersquatters", ICANN and the media have duped the masses into giving up freedom for each individual to pursue happiness thru commerce. A cornerstone of democracy. WIPO goes further and seizes property from individuals without giving them just compensation, which is given in every other type of property seizure thru "emminent domain" by the government. So many bad , corrupted, inept decisions already like eResolutions.com, VW.net , Corinthians.com, NorthernLights.com should make ICANN and WIPO hang their heads in shame. Sorry, ICANN, I knew the "bad faith" clause was trouble and a huge power grab from the get go. If you are going to seize domains from individuals and turn them over to companies, then you must make sure the domain owner gets fair market value for his property just like if the government wants your land to build a road. I've got more to say. Why such short notice for comments.. Is it perhaps ICANN doesn't want to air arguments and open subject to debate ??? |
