Mr. Christopher Campbell, Senior Litigation Counsel, Baker Hughes Company, Florence, Italy

Christopher (“Chris”) Campbell is a Litigation Counsel for Baker Hughes and advises on commercial dispute resolution matters in the Oil & Gas, Energy & Technology sectors.

During his career, Chris attained an LL.M studying Chinese Law and International Arbitration, and has worked on commercial & legal matters across multiple continents.

Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Chris litigated a number of matters, specializing in Eminent Domain disputes in the state of South Carolina and advising the Charleston Port Authority on various matters related to trade law and international commercial arbitration. Chris also served as the inaugural law clerk to the honorable Jocelyn T. Newman of the South Carolina 5th Judicial Circuit.

Chris also hosts a podcast, “Tales of the Tribunal”, which profiles the dynamic and interesting backgrounds of figures in international law and business.

Mr. Shelby Grubbs, Grubbs ADR, Atlanta

Shelby Grubbs works as an arbitrator, mediator and special master. He serves on arbitration panels for JAMS, American Arbitration Association, CPR Institute, International Centre for Dispute Resolution, International Chamber of Commerce and World Intellectual Property Organization. Formerly a member of the firm of Miller & Martin, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. From 2014 through 2017, he was Executive Director of the Atlanta Center for International Arbitration and Mediation, a component of the GSU College of Law where he was a member of the faculty teaching courses in advocacy and international commercial arbitration. He has also taught international commercial arbitration as an adjunct professor at the law schools at Emory University in Atlanta and Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Ms. Rachael Kent, WilmerHale, Washington, DC

Rachael Kent is a partner and vice-chair of WilmerHale's International Arbitration Practice Group, resident in the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Ms. Kent represents clients in a wide variety of commercial and investment disputes in arbitration proceedings worldwide. Her experience includes ad hoc and institutional arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC, ICDR, WIPO, ICSID, UNCITRAL, and others. She has recently represented parties in disputes in the mining, energy, aerospace, pharmaceutical, construction, insurance, defense, telecommunications, technology, and retail sectors, among others. Ms. Kent frequently represents parties in arbitrations involving intellectual property rights, including under intellectual property license agreements.

Ms. Kent has taught International Commercial Arbitration at the Georgetown University Law Center and the Duke University School of Law, and she frequently speaks and writes on topics related to international arbitration. Ms. Kent received her JD from the Duke University School of Law.

Mr. Matthew Reed, Wilson Sonsini, Palo Alto

Matt Reed is a partner in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he practices in the areas of technology-focused international and domestic arbitration and intellectual property litigation. With a background in chemical engineering, Matt has successfully resolved numerous disputes in a variety of technical areas, ranging from generic pharmaceuticals and medical devices to semiconductor processing and packaging. Matt is a founding board member of the California International Arbitration Council, a nonprofit that promotes international arbitration in California through educational, promotional, and organizational initiatives and programs. Matt has been recognized in the 2017-2020 editions of Northern California Super Lawyers.

Mr. Russell E. Levine, Kirkland & Ellis, Chicago

Russell is a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where he has spent his entire 34+ year career. He focuses his trial, appellate and alternative dispute resolution practice on patent infringement matters and disputes involving and related to technology transfer and patent license agreements. His trial practice includes jury trials, arbitrations and Section 337 proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission. His appellate practice concentrates on appeals in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His technology transfer and licensing practice includes structuring and negotiating both licensing-in and licensing-out transactions.

Russell has received numerous accolades for his IP practice. The 2020 edition of IAM Patent 1000 included the following: “One of the longest-serving anchors of the firm’s top litigation practice is Russell E. Levine; over the course of his nearly 34-year tenure, he has masterminded many of the set’s greatest high-tech successes. ‘Russell builds strong teams and mentors the associates on them very effectively. Russell is active in bar associations, industry organizations and his community. He is a Past-President of LES (USA and Canada); a past-chair of the By-Laws Committee of the USTA’s Midwest Section; and a past-chair of the President’s Council at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. He is an author and frequent speaker on IP issues. He is co-editor of International Licensing and Technology Transfer: Practice and the Law. His “Top 10 Court Decisions of the Year” workshop at the LES Annual Meeting is consistently standing room only.

Russell holds a B.S. in Engineering and a B.S. in Economics, both degrees from the University of Michigan, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago. He is on WIPO’s List of Mediators and Arbitrators, and he is registered to practice before the USPTO. He also is a Certified Licensing Professional.
