The career-building course is offered free-of-charge to selected applicants, and is jointly organized by the WIPO Academy, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the Korean Invention promotion Association (KIPA), and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The AICC is offered with the support of the Republic of Korea Funds-in-Trust for IP Education.

Advanced International Certificate Course (AICC) 2022

What is the AICC?

The AICC consists of interactive online lectures and exercises on global intellectual property (IP) management strategies from renowned IP experts. The course consists of three phases:

  • Phase 1: online courses including both the IP Panorama and the WIPO Advanced Distance Learning Course on IP Management (DL-450);
  • Phase 2: the DL-450 final exam paper, and an IP essay outlining the candidate’s motivation to study IP and how it relates to their current or future entrepreneurial plans (due by July 24, 2022);
  • Phase 3: the online seminar, which will be held from November 1 to 4, 2022, where participants can build their IP knowledge and skills for business success.

The online seminar includes some sessions that will be held on a metaverse platform, Gather Town, to allow participants from all over the world to come together. On Gather Town, participants will be able to learn by engaging with the eLearning material on the platform, playing IP-related games together, and partaking in video chats on IP.

How to apply?

Registration for the AICC’s IP Panorama course, is currently open on the KIPO Academy website until April 24. Through the IP Panorama, participants will learn more about IP issues from a business perspective, and after successfully completing the course they will receive an AICC certificate enabling them to progress to the special edition of the DL-450 for the AICC program.
