On the occasion of the international women’s day, the WIPO Academy is offering 30 scholarships to female applicants from developing countries, least developed countries and countries in transition applying to the advanced distance learning courses on March 8, 2021. Please write the DL.WomensDay@wipo.int mailbox on March 8, 2021 to enter the roster for the international women’s day DL course scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded on a first come first served basis.
The WIPO Academy achieved gender parity among its participants in 2014, and is proud of its consistent record as women accounted for 54 % of all participants compared to 46 % for men in 2020. The Academy will continue to develop education and training programs that focus on intellectual property (IP) and women. It will also increase the role of women in delivering those programs. Moreover, promoting the contribution of women to science and research will be supported by targeted activities.
