Who Can File a PCT Application

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will hold a new webinar in Russian on who can file a PCT application and how to appoint an agent under the PCT System.

Simply register online and log-on at the scheduled time to access the webinar.

The webinar Who Can File a PCT Application will elaborate on:

  • who is entitled to file an international application;
  • who may act as an applicant for an international application;
  • how many applicants there may be;
  • whether an agent must be appointed and who may act as agent.

Additionally, it will be demonstrated how to appoint an agent while preparing am application via ePCT.

WIPO expert will clarify whether different applicants may be designated for different designated Offices, whether a power of attorney must be drawn up for an agent, and the meaning of the terms common representative and representative who is "considered to be a common representative". It will also be explained whether an agent can waive his or her appointment and appoint a sub-agent.
