Federal law on ratification of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the Specialized Agencies regarding World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) staff members

On November 4, 2019, the President of the Russian Federation signed the Federal law on ratification of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the Specialized Agencies regarding World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) staff members.
Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the Specialized Agencies was adopted at the UN General Assembly in 1947 aiming to create optimal conditions for the functioning of the specialized agencies of the UN system in Member States.
In particular, the Russian extension of the Convention to WIPO will allow the Organization and its official representatives to enjoy privileges and immunities and to ensure further development of the partnership between Russian Federation and WIPO.
