Upcoming Conference: Intellectual Property in the New Technological Order

In cooperation with the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) and the Skolkovo Foundation, WIPO is organizing the “International Conference on Intellectual Property in the New Technological Order”. The conference will take place at the Skolkovo Innovation Center (Moscow) on February 1 and 2, 2018.

The event will revolve around a discussion on the challenges facing the intellectual property (IP) system in the context of rapid technological development. Renowned scientists and experts, officials, representatives from various international organizations, as well as lawyers and entrepreneurs are invited to participate as speakers.

More than 500 Russian and foreign visitors are expected to take part in the conference at Skolkovo – the largest technopark in Eastern Europe. 

Background

With the global process of digitalization in the economy, law and public life marching onwards, the role of intellectual property will evolve accordingly. New technologies mean new requirements to suit this rapidly emerging reality. Exactly what form these new requirements may take is the central topic of this exciting conference.
