WIPO Japan Office Director Sawai delivered a lecture at Joso Gakuin Junior High School

On June 21st, 2021, Mr. Sawai Tomoki, Director of WIPO Japan Office, visited Joso Gakuin Junior High School in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture and delivered a lecture under the theme of "Towards a New Era".

The lecture was held in a hybrid format, with student council members and representatives from each class gathered in a studio and the video streamed live to each class.

Director Sawai explained the importance of invention, innovation, and co-creation, which will not change even in this era of great change, also known as the era of 100 years of life and multi-stage life, using many examples and the perspective of the SDGs, whose slogan is "No one will be left behind”.

The lecture was attended by 311 students from Joso Gakuin Junior High School, and a lively question and answer session took place. After the lecture, many comments on the lecture were received from the students.

As an evangelist or the missionary of intellectual property, WIPO Japan Office will continue to actively engage in activities to promote and raise awareness of intellectual property, from junior and senior high school students, universities to corporate executives.
