Patent Cooperation Treaty and other WIPO-administered treaties

Declarations by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the deposit by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on December 23, 2020, of the following declarations:

- in accordance with Article 62(3) of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the PCT (see PCT Notification No. 13), shall be extended to the territory of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible;

- the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs (Geneva Act) (see The Hague Notification No. 133), shall be extended to the territory of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible;

- in accordance with Article 13 of the Locarno Agreement Establishing an International Classification for Industrial Designs (Locarno Agreement), the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's accession to the Locarno Agreement (see Locarno Notification No. 55), shall be extended to the territory of the Isle of Man, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible; and

- in accordance with Article 13 of the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (Nice Agreement), the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the Nice Agreement (see Nice Notification No. 45), shall be extended to the territories of the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Isle of Man, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible.

The said declarations shall enter into force, with respect to the territories as stipulated in the respective declarations, on March 23, 2021.
