The establishment of the Working Group was approved by the PCT Assembly at its 30th (13th ordinary) session held in September-October 2001, as recommended by the Committee on Reform of the PCT at its 1st session held in May 2001. That Committee was convened pursuant to a decision of the PCT Assembly made at its 29th (17th extraordinary) session held in September-October 2000.
