Careers and Recruitment

The recruitment of candidates for career posts at various levels within the Professional and Special categories (marked P or D) is generally effected through vacancies published on our Internet site and the ICSC Bulletin, and also advertised in WIPO periodicals and through the appropriate administrations of the member States of the Organization. Most of these posts require staff with a legal academic background and considerable professional experience in the field of intellectual property.

Vacancies for posts in the General Service category are advertised in WIPO, can be accessed at the reception desk and are, in principle, filled by local candidates, i.e. candidates living in the Geneva area or in neighboring France. Such competitions are open to external candidates when the competition reference number in the vacancy announcement does not carry an asterisk.

WIPO runs a Summer School on Intellectual Property, whose objective is to provide an opportunity for senior students and young professionals to acquire a working knowledge of intellectual property and to be exposed to the work of the Organization, including its treaty-making, international registration, research and publication activities.

Warning

Beware of scams implying association with WIPO including employment offers.
