The WIPO National Seminar on the Madrid and Singapore Treaties and WIPO National Workshop on the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks, March 14 to 16, 2011, Kyiv, were organized by WIPO in cooperation with the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine (SIPS). The abovementioned events were organized as part of the agreed Program of Cooperation between WIPO and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the years 2010-2012.
The Seminar was intended for trademark attorneys, legal experts and examiners of SIPS and was aimed at promoting the better use of the Madrid and Singapore Treaties, in particular at enhancing the knowledge of the participants about procedure, legal and other recent developments related to the Treaties. The purpose of the Madrid Workshop was to provide the examiners of SIPS and trademarks attorneys with information on practical issues arising in the course of the Madrid system use and on legal, information and technical assistance provided by WIPO in order to make the Madrid system more efficient and user-friendly.
