The objective of the Seminar was to deliberate on the challenges and opportunities arising from the implementation of the Development Agenda at the national, regional and international levels, and the integration of the WIPO Development Agenda recommendations, and intellectual property in general, into development policies. Participants had the opportunity to discuss the relationship between intellectual property and economic development, and consider practical ways in which national intellectual property strategies could be elaborated in support of development.
The audience of the seminar was senior government officials responsible for development policy issues and senior officials from IP Offices who were likely to assist in the integration of IP into national development policies.
