Francisco J. MORENO, Ph.D., VD. In 2004, Francisco Moreno joined Fundación Marcelino Botín. Currently he is a Director of the Science & Technology Transfer Unit of Fundación Marcelino Botín, based in Spain. He managed global technology transfer projects and coordinated project management and strategic planning activities related to ongoing research projects and, prior to that, was founder and chairman of PlacementPharma, S.L., and Mundifarma Consulting S.L.. PlacementPharma is a private consulting firm providing strategic analysis and corporate development services, including R&D and Regulatory Affairs, to the pharmaceutical & healthcare industries, Mundifarma Consulting is a private consulting firm specialized in the evaluation of strategic pharmaceutical Markets, R&D projects, portfolios, and platform technologies. Before founding his own companies, Francisco has served as a Manager for Basic & Preclinical Research with Ares Serono Group, S.A., Spain, a medium multinational pharmaceutical company with focus in biotechnology, at which he was responsible for all aspects of research and development in respect of basic and preclinical research and external scientific affairs. Additionally, he developed activities in coordination with the departments of new business opportunities and strategic marketing and planning for the same company, which involved planning, negotiating and managing licenses throughout Spain and Europe, including the Eastern European countries, in addition to lecturing widely on all aspects of Licensing, Negotiation and Technology Transfer.

Dr. Moreno received his Ph. D. in Molecular Biology (Honours "Cum Laude") and graduated degree from the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain, with a BSc (Honours, Extraordinary Licenciature Award and National University Study Award) in Veterinary Medicine. His professional experience extends over Research & Development, Competitive Intelligence, Knowledge Management, Strategic Business Analysis, International Business and International Patent licensing.

He has additional wide experience in Spanish, European and International Patents and Trademarks and in particular licensing matters.
