Phasing Out the Former eMadrid Webpages

It’s two months since we officially launched the new eMadrid – your fully integrated digital environment for managing international trademark registrations.

Digital graphic in pink and blue tones showing a laptop screen with a loading bar reading Beta → New eMadrid at 100%. The text New eMadrid environment appears at the top left, with WIPO Madrid branding at the bottom right.

Reminder: the new eMadrid provides integrated access to all the online tools and services you need throughout the global trademark journey and gives you comprehensive control over your trademark portfolio in one secure location.

The response has been impressive, with over 60% of international trademark registrations now being managed through the new eMadrid.

The next step…

Important: We will remove the former eMadrid webpages on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

To ensure that everyone can take advantage of the advanced functionality, features and user experience offered by the new eMadrid, we will remove the former eMadrid webpages previously used to:

  • file international trademark applications
  • find and monitor international trademark registrations.

A standalone “Manage your registrations” page will remain available for urgent transactions in case of service disruption or problems logging in to eMadrid.

Everything else will automatically redirect to the new eMadrid environment.

Why retire the old webpages?

The old eMadrid webpages have served our community well, but they don’t provide the advanced security, speed, and integrated features of the new eMadrid. Moving fully to one modern platform means:

  • Streamlined workflows – managing and monitoring applications and registrations in one place saves time and increases efficiency
  • Better support resources – tutorials, FAQs, and helpdesk assistance are now fully aligned with the new platform
  • Staying up to date – you'll benefit from all future eMadrid innovations and improvements.

And we can then dedicate all resources to further improving eMadrid and delivering new benefits faster.

Not yet using the new eMadrid?

If you haven’t made the switch yet, here’s what you should do:

  1. Login to eMadrid using your WIPO Account. Don’t have one? Create your WIPO Account now. Tip! If you're a holder or representative, create your WIPO Account using the same email address you use to file for or manage your international trademark registrations.

  2. Explore the new features and get comfortable with the new interfaces, collaboration tools, and real-time alerts.

  3. Check that your workbench contains all your international trademark applications and registrations. All assets that use the same on-record email address as your WIPO Account should be there. Assets missing? Learn more about populating your workbench.

Reminder of the key benefits of the new eMadrid

  • Integrated workbench – Track applications and manage international trademark registrations securely in one place with powerful sorting, filtering and batch processing
  • Collaboration features – Share access to your assets, set roles and permissions, and work with your team
  • Real-time updates and prompts – Stay on top of key actions with alerts and prompts.
  • Built-in guidance – Complete transactions confidently with validation, pre-filled fields, and step-by-step assistance.
