Madrid System: Finding and Monitoring International Trademark Registrations

eMadrid – the Madrid System’s digital environment – provides access to information on all international trademark registrations (“Find and monitor”). Tip: You can request to have assets added to your eMadrid workbench directly from “Find and Monitor”.
You need a WIPO Account to use this and most other tools and services offered by eMadrid. Don’t have one? Create a WIPO Account now.

How to use “Find and monitor”

  • Login to eMadrid with your WIPO Account
  • Go to the “Find and Monitor” tab.
  • Search for information by trademark name, holder name, international trademark registration number, and more.

Manage your search results

Click on any asset to:

  • Open full details of the international trademark registration
  • Check status of protection in each designated Madrid System member
  • View transaction history
  • Order certified documents.

Filter your search results by status (active, inactive, pending), designated Madrid System member, holder, Nice Class, and more.

Tailor the information displayed in your search results list to best suit your needs – for example, show representative name, expiration date, designated Madrid System member, and more. Click the cog wheel and select your preferred options.

Download your search results list in a variety of formats (PDF, CSV, XML, and more).

Create a watchlist

You can create a “watchlist” to keep an eye on your competitors’ trademarks. You can add as many assets as you like to your watchlist.

  1. Open an asset in your search results list
  2. Click “Add to watchlist”.
You can access your full watchlist using the “Watchlist” tab under “Find and Monitor”. You can filter the assets in your watchlist and customize the information display using the cog wheel.
You’ll be able to see at a glance which of the assets in your watchlist have been updated or modified by clicking on “X updated since your last visit”.

Add assets you manage to your workbench

You can add assets that you need to manage to your workbench from Find and Monitor:

  • Search by name or number
  • Select the asset(s) you want to add to your workbench
  • Click "Add X assets to your workbench" and "Continue"
  • Choose the level of access you need (Full access or custom access rights)
  • Click "Continue" and "Send".
Your request will be sent to the on-record email of the representative (if any); or holder. If they grant access, the asset(s) will be added to your workbench.
Important: You can only request access to multiple assets that share the same on-record holder or representative email address.
For security reasons, you’ll need to indicate the email address of the on-record representative (if any); otherwise of the on-record holder. (That email address must be the same for all the assets you’re trying to add to your workbench.)

Access the WIPO Gazette of International Marks

“Find and monitor” also provides access to the WIPO Gazette of International Marks. Published weekly, the Gazette contains data on new international trademark registrations, as well as renewals, subsequent designations and other modifications affecting existing international trademark registrations

You can either browse by chapter or search by number, holder name or brand name.

Access the legacy “Madrid Monitor”

Access our legacy, stand-alone monitoring tool – “Madrid Monitor” – to perform advanced searches within international trademark registrations. You can set up email alerts so you’re notified when changes are made to specific third-party international trademark registrations.
Important: We will decommission Madrid Monitor once we’ve integrated all functionality into “Find and Monitor” in eMadrid.
