The Constitution of the Republic of Chad was adopted by referendum on March 31, 1996, and entered into force on April 8, 1996. It was last amended by the Constitutional Act 08/PR/2005 of July 15, 2005.
This Constitution does not contain provisions concerning the protection of intellectual property rights.
However, Article 41 of Chapter I “Liberties and Fundamental Rights", in Title II “Liberties, Fundamental Rights and Duties”; and Article 144, in Title VI “Judicial Power” specify the right to private property. (See pages 6 & 23).
