Year of Version 2019 Dates Entry into force: April 2, 2002 Adopted: March 18, 2002 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits, Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, Industrial Property Notes This consolidated version of Law No. 304 of March 18, 2002, on Bodies of Justice takes into account amendments up to 'Law No. 241-VI of April 2, 2019, on Amendments to Certain Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Development of Business Environment and Regulation of Trade Activities', which entered into force on different dates.

Paragraph 23 under Article 1 of the said amending Law No. 241-VI of April 2, 2019, which entered into force on July 1, 2019 introduced amendments to the following provisions of this consolidated version:
- Article 3, item 3) was amended as follows: '3)carrying out of state registration of legal entities that are noncommercial organizations, accounting registration of their branches and representative offices, state registration of regulatory legal acts of central state bodies and departments, local representative and executive bodies, as well as mayors, ensuring state registration of regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan';
- Article 18, item 2) was amended as follows: '2) state registration of legal entities that are noncommercial organizations, accounting registration of their branches and representative offices, as well as maintaining the National register of business identification numbers;'.

The consolidated Law contains provisions relating to the functions of the Bodies of Justice in the implementation of state policies in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights (see Chapter 1, Article 3, item 7); and Chapter 3, Article 16, item 5), Article 21, Article 22-1 & Article 23, item 2).
