Year of Version 1995 Dates Entry into force: October 31, 1995 Issued: October 18, 1995 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Utility Models Notes Article 77 of this Decree states that Decree No. 621 of April 26, 1995, on the 'Implementation of International Treaties Establishing the World Trade Organization' was repealed.
Annex I contains the Schedule of Fees on trademarks, issued by the Trademark Office of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
Annex II features the original text of Law No. 24.481 of March 30, 1995, on Patents and Utility Models, together with the amendments made by Law No. 24.572 of September 28, 1995, and Law No. 111 of October 11, 1864, on Patents.

Article 2 of the Civil Code stipulates: “Laws shall not be binding until after their publication, and as of the stated day. If no day is stated, they shall be binding eight days following their official publication.”
This Decree was published in the Official Gazette on October 23, 1995 (B.O. 23/10/95), with no specific date of entry into force; based on Article 2 of the Civil Code it entered into force eight days after its publication.
