The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments and has the honor to notify the deposit by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on July 8, 2026, of its instrument of ratification of the Riyadh Design Law Treaty, adopted at Riyadh on November 22, 2024. The instrument contained the following declaration:
- "Pursuant to Article 31(1) of the Riyadh Design Law Treaty, the Government of Saudi Arabia hereby declares that, notwithstanding Article 5(2)(b) of the Riyadh Design Law Treaty, its applicable law at the date it becomes a party to this Treaty does not allow the applicant or other interested person who has neither a domicile nor a real and effective industrial or commercial establishment in its territory to act for himself/herself before its Office for the filing of an application, for the purposes of the filing date".
The date of entry into force of the Riyadh Design Law Treaty will be notified when the required number of ratifications or accessions is reached in accordance with Article 30(2) of the Treaty.
