Notes
This Act on the Protection of Biotechnological Inventions and on the Amendment on the Protection of Rights to New Plant and Animal Varieties concerns the patentability of inventions involving biological materials, plants or animals, microbiological or other technical processes, and products obtained by such processes. Notably, patentability is excluded for inventions contrary to public policy or principles of morality, discovery of elements of the human body (such as the sequence or partial sequence of a gene), and plant and animal varieties or essential biological processes for plant or animal production.
