Details Details Year of Version 2023 Dates Entry into force: June 28, 2023 Issued: December 29, 2022 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Industrial Property Notes Federal Law No. 231-FZ Introduces Article 13.2 to recognize the validity in Russia of exclusive rights (patents, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, geographical indications, and appellations of origin) certified by official documents of: - Donetsk People’s Republic - Luhansk People’s Republic - Ukraine - Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Kherson Oblast These rights are recognized subject to state registration with the Russian federal executive body for intellectual property. The Law formalizes the recognition and registration in Russia of IP rights originating from specific Ukrainian territories and the Donetsk/Luhansk People’s Republics, ensuring continuity of protection while setting procedures, deadlines, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
