Details Details Year of Version 2025 Dates Entry into force: July 28, 2025 Signature: July 26, 2019 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Geographical Indications Notes The Federal Law on liability for a person who uses a protected sign of a geographical indication, a name of the place of origin of goods, or the designation "geographical indication" or "name of the place of origin of goods," or a similar designation, in relation to a designation not registered in Russia as a geographical indication or name of the place of origin of goods; or who uses a protected sign on goods that do not possess the characteristics specified in the State Register of Indications and Names (illegal use of a protected sign).
