Notes
This consolidated version of the Scotland Act 1998 (Chapter 46) takes into account amendments up to the Scottish Elections (Reform) Act 2020, which entered into force on different dates in accordance to section 35 under its Part 5.
The said amending Act 2020 introduced amendments (entered into force on October 1, 2020) to the following provisions of this consolidated version:
- Under Part I, section "General provisions", s. 2(1) repealed, s. 2(2) substituted, s. 2(5)(a) inserted, s. 2(5ZZA) inserted; and s. 3(2A)-(2C) inserted;
- Under Schedule 7, words in Sch. 7, para. 1(2) repealed.
This consolidated version was updated and generated on February 9, 2021 (see the list "Changes to legislation" that was added at pages 201 to 204 of the consolidated version).
