This consolidated version of the Broadcasting Act 1996 (Chapter 55) takes into account amendments up to the Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2020 (S.I. 2020/1062), which entered into force on November 1, 2020; except for its regulation 26 & 47, which will enter into force on April 6, 2021.
The said amending Regulations 2020 (S.I. 2020/1062) introduced amendments (entered into force on November 1, 2020) to the following provisions of this consolidated version, see:
- Words inserted in s. 1(4), and s. 1(4)(za) under section entitled "Introductory" of Part I;
- Words inserted in s. 24(1) under section entitled "Digital additional services provided on television broadcasting frequencies" of Part I;
- Words in s. 39(1) substituted under section entitled "Miscellaneous and supplemental" of Part I; and
- Words in s. 105(1) substituted under Part IV.
This consolidated version was updated on February 21, 2021, with the addition of a list entitled "Changes to legislation" which have not yet been incorporated thereto, relating to the amendments to the Broadcasting Act 1996 (see pages 186 and 187 of the said consolidated version).
