Year of Version 2019 Dates Entry into force: January 1, 2018 Adopted: December 26, 2017 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This consolidated version of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 123-VI of December 26, 2017, on Customs Regulation incorporates amendments up to 'Law No. 243 of April 3, 2019, on Amendments Certain Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Special Economic and Industrial Zones, Investment Attraction, Export Development and Promotion, as well as Social Security', which entered into force on diffirent dates.
Paragraph 5 under Article 1 of the said amending Law No. 243 of April 3, 2019, which entered into force on April 16, 2019 upon expiry of ten days after its first official publication in the Official Gazette 'Egemen Kazakhstan'(April 5, 2019) introduced amendments to the following provisions of this consolidated version of the Code on Customs Regulation:
- Title of Article 567 deleted;
- Article 281, item 2 amended where the words 'and industrial zones' replaced the words 'zones'; the second paragraph of item 13 amended where the words 'special economic zones and industrial zones' replaced the words 'special economic zones';
- Article 282, item 1, subitem 1); item 5, subitem 2) amended where the words 'and industrial zones' replaced the words 'zones';
- Article 291, item 1; item 6, subitem 3) amended where the words 'and industrial zones' replaced the words 'zones';
- Article 558, item 3 added;
- Article 567 deleted.

This consolidated Code contains, inter alia, the following provisions on the protection of intellectual property rights:
- Section 1, Chapter 2, Article 12; Chapter 6, Articles 64 67 & 73;
- Section 3, Chapter 18, Articles 176 & 177; Chapter 19, Article 194 & 199;
- Section 6, Chapter 53, Articles 458-464;
- Section 8, Article 568.
