Federal Judicial Authority Law No. 3 of 1983

Year of Version 1983 Dates Promulgated: January 1, 1983 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This law provides for the independence of the Judicial Authority in the exercise of its duty, based on sharia Islamic law. The federal judicial authority includes all courts and prosecutors of UAE (Art. 1). Furthermore, federal courts have jurisdiction to adjudicate in all disputes and crimes within their jurisdiction in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and to decide on what it is transferred to them by the local judicial authorities, at the request of the concerned Emirate (Art. 10).
